Shoe Porn

Fair warning: I'm going to be MIA until 9/10. The week leading up to New York Fashion Week is going to be insanely crazy so I will have to leave the blog until then.

But I would never leave you without anything to look at! I have been shopping incessantly at Lang, Wang, and Balenciaga lately; here are my two newest pairs of Balenciaga shoes. Yummmmm.

I'll return on Thursday to bring you your daily dose of Fashion Week coverage. When FW ends, I will be posting more frequent, shorter posts to alleviate myself of the sometimes burdening, colossal, weekly entries.

Be back soon!

Kiss Me, Lick Your Cigarette Then Kiss Me

Fashion Week shopping has officially begun (or actually, it began with the purchase of the Miu Miu collar but I forgot to mention it then so I guess I'll just pass it off as if it is starting now). Anywho, about a week ago I took a glorious trip to Opening Ceremony and picked myself up a couple of Wang pieces (sigh). See my new Wang skirt and shirt below.

I am featured in the newest issue of DOLLY Magazine (Australia) which dropped on the 25th. Be sure to buy your copy! I answered a very long (but fun) interview and they made it into somewhat of a diary entry. Love! I put the link to where the article can be read below the image. I have more press planned as well so if you spot me somewhere please let me know!
Not to mention... FASHION WEEK IS JUST ABOUT TWO WEEKS AWAY *girly squeal*. Winner of the most inventive invite (so far) goes to: Ports 1961 (for the millionth time). Tia never seems to skimp on any of the invites even when designers are surely scaling back. Ms. Cibani, I salute you.
I am confirmed for twenty two shows this year, with others planned! What shows will you be attending?
Oh, Bryanboy. What would I (or the world) do without you? Besides being one of the (dare I say) fiercest men on the planet who really WERQS, he also provides me with tons of inspiration. He posted this Youtube video a few days ago on Twitter and I cannot stop watching it; I swear I had to view it at least 30 times already. See with glee or decline with regret.
Yesterday I received a lovely BBM from someone who goes by the name of "LA". Well LA, I love you and thank you for the compliment. I love creative mail; send some! kristinprim@live.com , BBM: 30929FDD
And last but surely not least; prim. is now worldwide. Find a full stock list below.
PLEASE NOTE: Copies in the US will not arrive in stores until September 2nd.
MOST NEW YORK STOCKISTS WILL HAVE COPIES AVAILABLE TO BUY TOMORROW.
Non-US copies are currently available to purchase in all stores listed below.

I recently bought a Jonathan Saunders x Topshop dress that I absolutely love. I also had a lot of fun playing with my studded belt today, if you couldn't tell.

Sharp Enough To Slit Your Wrists Her Lips Spread Gossip

New York is scorching. In the summer when most purchase denim shorts and eyelet tops, on Saturday I found myself in Miu Miu buying a black goat hair collar. What is wrong? As soon as I took it home my family commented on how it looked like a toupee. My friend also said it looked like a mustache. I think it looks fabulous.

p.s. - I do not want to get into the whole fur argument with anyone on the blog, so I will go out and say it now: it is NOT fur; it is hair.

Before you go onto the photos... I chopped my hair off. There, I said it. I am not very proud of it but I needed something different for a change. It comes a few inches below my shoulders which really isn't short at all, but compared to what it was it feels like a bob. I also got a chin-length angle for the fall. I have every intention of growing it back to where it was because I miss it so much; however it is wonderful to see something new. Good thing my hair grows super fast.

This looks nothing like me. Odd.
I recently bought the new issue of Flaunt as well. Read... it's fabulous.
Before I forget, I have exciting prim. news as well! We recently signed with various distributors who will bring prim. to cities such as New York, Berlin, London, Stockholm, Paris, and Seoul. Contact primmagazine@live.com for a full stocklist.
Before I leave I must show you an incredible video shot by Matt Irwin (my love). Lara is... breathtaking. Indulge:
I will be back Saturday with another post. I just got back from Opening Ceremony a few hours ago and did lovely Wang shopping. I never knew they had such an extensive Wang collection.
Thoughts on the collar? Fashion do or fashion faux pas?
x, Kristin

C'mon Don't Amuse Me, I Don't Need Your Sympathy

After going AWOL on the blog to catch up with prim. responsibilities, I am back. I come bearing tons of news, new purchases, one of my most wanted items, and a plea. Here are a few of my newest purchases which I will eventually make into outfits (not together, clearly).
Walter jacket
D&G Top
D&G Top
I recently started wearing this skirt as well, which I happen to oddly love. It's (heavily) deconstructed and held together with a few gold pins. I want to pair it with a heavier white tee (which I need to buy).
So here's a mock outfit; I wouldn't want to make anything too busy since the skirt will most likely be the focal point. I would love to add more to it either by attaching strips of fabric to the gaps or adding more pins, but this will do for now. Thoughts on the piece?
I fell in love with these Rock & Republic boots and decided to buy them. The heel is outrageous and it was my favorite R&R heel of that season. I also want the red pumps with the same heel as well.
I picked up a few new mags within the past few weeks as well: Paper Planes, Lurve, Metro.Pop, and Q. By the way... I REALLY would LOVE to find A and Self Service somewhere. I shall continue my search... Onto the wants... the Eddie Borgo Cone Ring. Yes, please. I am seriously considering buying the Hervé Léger Vivien Cutout Dress. So... Max, you gotta let me into the Hervé show. I'll wear the dress. I'll wear five of them. Swear ;) Hopefully within a few posts I'll be gracing this... if I can actually find a store where it ISN'T sold out. *sigh* I also have a brand new interview on Chic Intuition. Go check it out!
A few more pieces featuring me are scheduled to drop in August and September so I'll post as they come out. I found yet another captivating Rad video. Enjoy. x, K

So I'm Saving All My Secrets For a Deaf Man

Why hello everyone; glad to be back (sorta). I say sorta because this week I start camp all again. Hm... but I shall post more; maybe I'll document my week. Sounds good.
But anyway, wow, it's been almost a month I've had this blog. Let's reminisce...
Aw, now wasn't that nice?
I really do read all of my email personally, I swear. A very common question I am asked is "How can basics be chic?" Well Taylor from Connecticut, Mary from California, and Margot from Germany, this post is for you. So while it might not be the most "wow" outfit ever, rather than not posting at all due to my absolute lack of time, I decided to be productive.
I recently bought this very geometric patterned dress, which I think is just wonderful. I decided it would be quite good for this post because it is a basic little black dress, only with a structured/knit twist. I pair it with a leather glove (or two, but I felt like one), a leather jacket for the nighttime, and some killer shoes.
The dress is see through (oh, yes). I wear denim shorts under it because a) it's see through and that would be just incredibly tacky, b) you cannot even see the shorts because the knit at the bottom is so close, and c) it is super super super super short.
So this is my idea of something basic-y chic, no? Well if you hate it, it was my attempt. It's one of those outfits that does have a lot of detail to it despite the few garments used so the photos don't do it justice but they'll have to do.
I just realized my face is not showing in any of those photos, which actually kind of aggravates me. Totally unintentional guys, sorry (haha... woops).
Now onto my "excuse" of why I went MIA...
I am taking both a styling and publication design course at FIT. For my styling course we had to pick two celebrities to style so I chose Alice Dellal and Courtney Love. I was going to choose MKO but that would have been so predictable, no? So above are the swatches I put together; lots of leather, lace, flannel, denim, and PVC. Yum.
I have two more weeks of my courses (Monday - Thursday) and will try to update in the middle of this week. If my attempt doesn't work, expect a post on Friday when I get to actually have some time.
On a side note, if you do not watch/like these videos, I can no longer talk to you.
I decided to also do somewhat of a FAQ as well because I get tons of repeated questions and although I do love everyone, they get to be a pain to answer. So here are the top ten (actually, just the first 10 I just grabbed from my inbox) questions. Answered.
1. Are you in college? Absolutely not. I am going to be a junior in high school.
2. What are some good music recommendations? If I had to pick five bands to check out I would pick Girl in a Coma, Hole, Shiny Toy Guns, Nouvelle Vague, and Florence and the Machine.
3. Where do you live? NYC.
4. I'm coming to New York soon... where are your favorite places to shop? Oak, Opening Ceremony, LF, Bergdorf Goodman, and Resurrection Vintage.
5. Who is your favorite designer at the moment that I might not have heard about? Rad Hourani is a genius.
6. Can I IM you? While you might expect me to say no, I speak to ten million people a day I do not know online so I guess if I didn't give you my AIM that would be discriminatory. AIM: kristinnprim . Double the "n" because "kristinprim" was hacked.
7. Have you attended any fashion shows? What was your favorite? Who have you seen? I have attended countless fashion shows. My favorite collection of shows I have attended so far were the S/S 09/10 collections at New York Fashion Week. I attended numerous shows there; my favorites were Ports 1961 and Charlotte Ronson. Obviously being at NYFW I met and/or sat with or near many people, from Anna Wintour to Lindsay Lohan.
8. Is prim. available to buy in print? Yes! We recently signed with a new publisher. You can buy prim. here.
9. Where have you been featured in the press? I have been featured by Glamours including French Glamour, Elles including Italian Elle, Teen Vogue, Style Bubble, Kingdom of Style, Fashion TV, Refinery29, etc. I also have many upcoming shoots and features so I'll keep you posted!
10. What do you do to your hair? Nothing! Literally. I just let it grow long (haircut next Friday... only two inches off, don't worry). I don't add any products to it nor have I ever colored it. BUT WAIT! I do NOT blow dry my hair. EVER. Secret.
As always, if you have any questions email kristinprim@live.com.
You can add me on BBM too! Pin: 30929FDD
Also, stalk me on my Twitter. I update it more during the week than Blogger.
I feel like updating my blogroll again. If you would like to link, drop me a comment on this post.
Prim issues are arriving on the 14th. Pre-order your copies here.
Actually, I promise I'll be back in the middle of this week with a sufficient outfit post. Sounds good.
x, K
PS- Is anyone else going to the RAD Rad Hourani event sometime next week here in NY?

The Principal of Nature, It's True But, It's a Cruel World.

In case you missed my thousand tweets, last night was the Rad by Rad Hourani fashion presentation at the Soho Grand Hotel. Because it was Rad it probably goes without saying that the show was amazing, but I will say it anyway. The show was amazing.

I wore a Dolce & Gabbana vest, bandeaux, Monarchy Collection vest, vintage skirt, and Pour La Victoire shoes.

After the show, I was taking photos outside the Yard when Shaun Ross came out. We introduced ourselves to each other and we took a million pictures together but none came out because no one knew how to work my Nikon (sad).

I immediately went home and rummaged through all of my new magazines because I knew I saw him in a few spreads recently; I finally found one in Lurve. He is so gorgeous and I wanted to share his work with you. Indulge:

More coverage and (better) photos in prim.'s Fashion Week issue (October/November 2009 out October 1st). The next issue of prim. drops August 1st.

What did you think of the show?

You've Got to Go Straight Ahead

I first introduced my Topshop jacket to you guys on my old blog. While browsing my closet the other day I came across it again and thought I would break it out for summer. It turns out the jacket is living up to its price; I can really see wearing it all year round (long jeans like my old blog, shorts like below). I wore it with my Alexander Wang tank (which is so incredible comfy, and if you don't have one you need one now), jean shorts, and heels.
Yesterday I went shopping at Oak, Topshop, and LF. Oak is absolutely amazing. It was my first time there and I honestly could have spent all of my money there if I tried. Luckily, I only bought a few pairs of shoes (although I can tell I'm going to be back soon to pick up their clothing: complexgeometries, Wang, Acne, Comme, Chronicles of Never, Diesel, Gar De, Ksubi, Y-3, HELLO!)
While I was there I did some major magazine shopping and picked up issues of V, POP, Indie, Plastique, Interview, Qvest, Crash, Russh, Bon, and Oyster. Yum.
I'm looking for a few new online boutiques to check out. Any ideas?

Addicted

Yesterday I went with Alba, Chloe, and Kelly to White Columns, this really amazing gallery in the city. After we went to the gallery, we went shopping to McQueen and Scoop.
I wore my McQueen scarf as a top and paired it with a McQueen belt, white tank, heels, and seriously destructed jeans.
